A word of encouragement
At one of our recent Monday morning prayer meeting the following extract from Prision Fellowships, Prayer and Praise points, was shared: Chaplin at a Correctional Centre in NSW, shared how God has been stirring in the lives of some of the inmates in the Maximum Security section of the prison. A few started gathering to read the Bible together and to pray in the open, out in the yard. What began as a group of 2-3 men has now grown to a group of 20-30 men gathering daily outside in the prison yard. Several men have become followers of Jesus while others who had lapsed reconneted with Jesus. Many are joining the group as curious seekers. This has resulted in an increased demand for bibles as the new Christians are hungry for the word. People have noticed a changed in the atmosphere in the prison and a reduction in the number of incidents in the prison. The Holy Spirit has stirred the hearts of these men to gather, pray, read and support each other. If God can work like this at a prision, he can do it anywhere, even at here at PCCBC! |
